This is the first time I've helped Home-Start York with the charity concert at York Minster. An event that celebrates the choral talent from local schools in and around York.
First job was to design a poster which could be emailed to all the parents of children at local schools. I liaised with David Miller, one of the amazing Trustees at Home-Start York, and came up with a design that featured the Minster along with a Home-Start brand images. I also included link buttons at the bottom of the poster for more information on the event and how to get tickets.
The image of the 2 boys has been selected by Home-Start York from a library of brand images to feature prominently throughout their communications.
DESIGNING THE SOUVENIR PROGRAMME
The concert programme uses the Home-Start national brand guidelines as a starting point for its design - this was deemed an important thing to do with it being an opportunity to promote the charity and raise awareness of the good work its volunteers do in the York area. The national brand guidelines have a bright, colourful and informal style that can be adapted easily to different publications. After a few revisions we agreed the design and layout and I set about putting it together. The programmes were printed by Inc-Dot, a local family firm who were delighted to have the opportunity to get involved and were kind enough to print the 300 programmes at a discounted rate.
